Old Man's Cave-Hocking Hills State Park

The main recess and entire gorge was labeled Old Man's Cave because a hermit named Richard Rowe lived here shortly after the Civil War. He reportedly made his home in this cave and remained there until his death.

Over 50 years ago, rows of tiny pine seedlings were planted on the very grounds where Frontier Log Cabins stands.
