GPS sometimes will not get you to our home/office. If you decide to use GPS, I strongly suggest you compare them with our directions listed below otherwise you may spend part of your vacation time lost and trying to call us for help. Cell reception is limited in our area. We want you to arrive the quickest, easiest way possible. Some roads around us are very narrow, unmaintained, or do not connect anymore.
If your GPS is taking you on Thad Hall Road or Sam Carr Road, seek a different road. Sam Carr Road no longer connects with Thompson Ridge Rd. Thad Hall Road is very narrow and all gravel.
Columbus Route 33:
Take Route 33 east from Columbus towards Lancaster. Stay on Route 33 (DO NOT take the Lancaster Business Route) and continue on Route 33 approx. 15 miles to Exit Route 180 Laurelville, turn right. Go approximately 10 miles on Route 180, DO NOT Turn Right on 374!!! (FOLLOW signs for Rock house state park) turn left on Route 374, go approximately 1 mile. At the top of hill, just past the Rock House parking lot, turn right onto Thompson Ridge Road (Look for our sign!). Go approximately 6 miles. Frontier Log Cabins will be on the left. Pull into our asphalt driveway at the garage and come to our front door; we will get you to your cabin within a few minutes.
Columbus Route 23:
Take Route 23 south to Circleville, take Route 56 East exit, at traffic light turn LEFT, continue through Circleville no turns, approximately 15 miles to Laurelville. In Laurelville at 5 way stop go between the hardware store and Laurelville Plaza staying on Route 56 through town for approximately 2 blocks. Look for The Ridge Inn Restaurant on the left. That street is Thompson Ridge Road. Turn left and go approximately 3 miles. Frontier Log Cabins 18381 will be on the right. Pull into our asphalt driveway at the garage and come to our front door; we will get you to your cabin within a few minutes.
Cincinnati I-71:
Take I-71 north approx. 60 miles then exit onto Route 35 E Chillicothe (approx. 40 miles) take the OH-159/Bridge St Exit. Turn Left onto N Bridge St/ SR 159. Go 5.6 miles and turn right on Route 180 and go approx. 12 miles into small town of Adelphi. At the 4 way stop in Adelphi turn left, go approx. 1 mile. Road ends at Route 56, turn right go one mile into Laurelville. At 5 way stop go between the hardware and Laurelville Plaza staying on Route 56, go 2 blocks, look for The Ridge Inn Restaurant on your left, that street is Thompson Ridge Rd. turn LEFT. Go approx. 3 miles, Frontier Log Cabins 18381 is on your right. Pull into our asphalt driveway at the garage and come to our front door; we will get you to your cabin within a few minutes.
Dayton/Springfield area:
Take Route 35 east from your area, towards Chillicothe (approx. 40 miles) take the OH-159/Bridge St Exit. Turn Left onto N. Bridge St/ SR 159. Go 5.6 miles and turn right onto OH-180. Go approx. 12 miles into small town of Adelphi. At the 4 way stop in Adelphi turn left, go approx. 1 mile. Road ends at Route 56, turn right go one mile into Laurelville. At 5 way stop go between the hardware store and Laurelville Plaza staying on Route 56, go 2 blocks, look for The Ridge Inn Restaurant on your left, that street is Thompson Ridge Road turn LEFT. Cleveland area:
Take I-71 south to Columbus area, take I-270 East around Columbus to Route 33 East to Lancaster. Take Route 33 East from Columbus towards Lancaster. Stay on Route 33 (DO NOT take the Lancaster Business Route) continue on Rt. 33 for approx. 15 miles to Exit Route 180 Laurelville, turn right. Go approximately 10 miles on Route 180, DO NOT Turn Right on 374!!! (FOLLOW signs for Rock house state park) turn left on Route 374, go approx. 1 mile. At top of hill turn right on Thompson Ridge Road. Go approximately 6 miles. Frontier Log Cabins will be on the left. Pull into our asphalt driveway at the garage and come to our front door; we will get you to your cabin within a few minutes.
Athens area:
Take Route 33 North/West past Logan to the exit for Route 180 Laurelville. At exit turn left. Go approx. 10 miles on Route 180, DO NOT Turn Right on 374!!! (FOLLOW signs for Rock house state park) turn left on Route 374, Go approx. 1 mile (just past the sign for Rock House state park) and turn right onto Thompson ridge rd. Go 6 miles to Frontier Log Cabins on the left. Pull into our asphalt driveway at the garage and come to our front door; we will get you to your cabin within a few minutes.
Chillicothe area:
Take Route 23 north approx. 3 miles. Take Route 159 and go approx. 2 miles. Turn right on Route 180 and go app. 12 miles into small town of Adelphi. At the 4 way stop in Adelphi turn left, go approx. 1 mile. Road ends at Route 56, turn right go one mile into Laurelville. At 5 way stop go between the hardware store and Laurelville Plaza staying on Route 56, go 2 blocks, look for The Ridge Inn Restaurant on your left, that street is Thompson Ridge Rd. turn LEFT. Eastern Ohio Cambridge area:
Take I-70 west towards Columbus take Route 37 South/East to Lancaster, going approx. 20 miles into Lancaster. Go 4-5 traffic lights to Main St turn Right. Proceed to 4th traffic light on Main St you should be at Route 33/Memorial Dr. you will turn left on Route 33, continue on Route 33 approx. 15 miles to Exit Route 180 Laurelville, turn right. Go approximately 10 miles on Route 180, DO NOT Turn Right on 374!!! (FOLLOW signs for Rock house state park) turn left on Route 374, go approximately 1 mile. Take Route 75 south to Findlay, there take exit 156 Route 15 East which turns into Route 23 going into Columbus area. Take I- 270 East around Columbus to Route 33 East exit to Lancaster. Stay on Route 33 (DO NOT take the Lancaster Business Route) and continue on Route 33 app 15 mi. to Exit Route 180 Laurelville, turn right. Go approximately 10 miles on Route 180, DO NOT Turn Right on 374!!! (FOLLOW signs for Rock house state park) turn left on Route 374, go approximately 1 mile.
